IE 7 Crashes At Startup After InstallProblem: 

If your browser crashes when launching after installing Internet Explorer 7 and your running Google Desktop then you need to take the following steps to correct it:

View Crash Information: 

Open Start --> Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Event Viewer --> Application Error Records

Type: ErrorSource: Application ErrorEvent ID: 1000 

Description: Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.5730.11, faulting module mshtml.dll, version 7.0.5730.11, fault address 0x000c4c9e.

Google Desktop Version: Google Desktop 4.2006.303.5-enInternet

Explorer Version:  7.0.5730.11

Resolution: 

Option 1: 

Turn off Google Web History.

1. Right click on the Google tray icon
2. Select Properties Under
3. Web History

Option 2:

Upgrade Google Desktop to the latest version. Google Desktop 4.2006.1008.2039-en-pb or newer
