False Domain Name Registration Notice 

When you receive a notice that your domain name is due to renew, take a moment and read the notice carefully. Spammers have access to domain registration information. When they determine that a domain name is about to expire, they will send you a renewal notice. It is very easy to think that this notice is valid. You will end up paying much more if you renew with one of these spammers.

 

If you receive a renewal notice for your domain name, it should be with the same company that you registered it with. If the company name is different, or you don't think it is time to renew, give us a call. We will check it out for you.

 

The main item to look for is a disclaimer stating that the notice is not a bill. If you receive a notice, it should be an invoice. Check your payment records and determine who you registered your domain name with and when it was done.
