Changes to Daylight Saving Time (DST):                   Image

The Daylight Saving Time changes that will occur in March of 2007 will require updates to your operating system. DST will now begin earlier in the year, on the second Sunday of March, and will not change back to Standard Time until the first Sunday of November. To ensure that your computer operating system makes the appropriate DST changes you will need to manually change the time, get an update from Microsoft or get a download from microsoft. Windows Vista, Microsoft's lastest operating system, will transistion the DST changes automatically in most instances.

The updates that you need will vary depending on your operating system. To determine the operating system that is installed on your computer follow these easy steps:

  • Click Start
  • Select Control Panel
  • Select System
  • Select the General tab. The name of the current version of your Windows software is displayed on this tab.

Once you determine your the version of your operating system, you can go to Microsoft to determine the updates that you need to change your time settings.
