Echo Problem Plantronics 510s

Question:

What should I do when I hear too much background noise, echoes, or distortion on the Voyager 510S?

Answer:

All of these issues can be caused by your microphone (transmit) volume level being too high. To reduce these noises, lower the speak (transmit) volume controls on the base unit.

The master transmit controls are the ABCD switch settings on the bottom of the base. A is the lowest and D is the highest setting. You can fine tune this setting with the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on the back of the base that are above and below the picture of the microphone.

Also, check to see if your 510S is plugged into a dedicated headset port on your telephone.  That could be causing the problem as well. We do not recommend that you plug the 510S in the headset port of your telephone.  It should be plugged into the hand receiver port instead.
