Microsoft Word 2007 - Mouse Does Not Highlight text
Problem: Mouse does not highlight text in Microsoft Word 2007 Mouse will not highlight text or place cursor on page. You can select menus in Microsoft Word 2007. Microsoft Excel 2007 and other applications work correctly and you are able to highlight text.
Resolution/Fix:
- Close Microsoft Word 2007
- Open Regedit --> Do this at your own risk. I'm not responsible if you brick your box.
- Locate the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
- Right Click and Export the key to a backup folder in case you need it later should something go wrong.
- Delete this key
- Open Microsoft 2007 Word
- Check and see if you can highlight text now
