Microsoft Exchange Message Store Database Size Limit Reached
Problem: The Exchange message store dismounted and the event log shows the following entry:
Event ID: 9690
Solution: Modify the registry key to allow the Exchange database to grow up to 75 GB
Modify this Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\<SERVER NAME>\Private-013e2e46-2cd7-4a8e-bfec-0e4652b94b00
The GUID used above is just an example. Yours will be different.
Information:
Prior to Microsoft Exchange Server service pack 2 you could not configure the Exchange database size limit.
Exchange Database Defaults
Exchange Standard Edition: Database size is 18 GB (Default)
Exchange Enterprise Edition: No default size or limit
